Purpose
Adventist Writers and Editors is an association to encourage the creativity and outreach opportunities of emerging and established writers who are members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church or who sympathetic to its ethos.
Objectives
The Association of Adventist Writers and Editors (AWE) seek to do the following:
- Develop the literary potential of emerging writers in the Seventh-day Adventist Church through regular and dedicated training programmes and seminars.
- Signpost emerging writers to appropriate opportunities inside and outside of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
- Provide mentoring for emerging writers, coaching for writers in mid-career, and to encourage and support established writers to find new markets for their work.
- Maintain strong editorial links with the Communication department of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in United Kingdom and with the Stanborough Press.
- Encourage the development of new methods and diverse projects for publication of writing.
- Promote the use of writing as a method of Christian service.
